Lanmou/Love

17 02 2011

Mwen sonje lè m te rankontre w

Se te bèl ti pawòl ki te konn pale

Tankou cheri, doudou, kokòt

Paske m te toujou kwè wap pou mwen yon kòt

Lè m rele w nan telefon ou pale tankou tibebe

Men kounye a cheri ou vle tounen pwazon

Anverite map pran yon antipwazon

Paske se ou ki kache nan kè m

Tranbleman, siklòn, volkan mèt pase

Mwen pap janm kite w

Paske sak nan kèm nan se lamou.

I remember when I first met you
Beautiful words were spoken
Like cheri, doudou, kokòt
Because I always believed you would be mine somehow.
When I called you on the phone you spoke like a little child
And when we chat online, even though that’s not really talking.
In order to court you I endured so much suffering,
So I said, at last, “I don’t want that girl.”
But when I thought about it, I saw no other besides you.
Because in the depths of my heart your name is forever inscribed.
When you at last said, “okay” it was as though God had descended
And we spent a beautiful December
We spent two or three months just like two doves.
But now, my love, you have again become poison.
So I will take an anti-poison
Because it is you who is hidden in my heart
Let earthquake, hurricanes, volcanoes come our way
I will never leave you
Because what is in my heart is love.
